CEO of MERF Joins “Pakistan’s Humanitarian Future 2025” Summit

Dr. Syed Shah Miran, CEO of MERF, participated as a panelist at the “Pakistan’s Humanitarian Future 2025” summit, sharing insights on sustainable health responses and resilient systems amid climate-induced humanitarian challenges.

Co-hosted by IRC Pakistan and the Pakistan Humanitarian Forum, with support from Sida, the summit addressed Pakistan’s preparedness for climate-related crises. Romina Khursheed Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister, emphasized disaster risk financing and innovative financial tools for resilience.

The panel featured key experts from NDMA, NDRMF, Unilever, IRC, and MERF, discussing strategies for climate adaptation. The summit also launched the Pakistan Seed Security Prototype and Public-Private Partnership initiatives to strengthen WASH solutions and green entrepreneurship.

Closing the event, Lubna Javaid, Deputy Director Programs at IRC Pakistan, stressed the need for gender-inclusive climate resilience programs and accessible climate financing. The summit marked a key step toward a sustainable and resilient humanitarian future for Pakistan.
